Families have much to explore throughout Dallas. For the real youngsters try the Dallas Zoo. The apes are usually hilarious, and the Discovery House lets kids run with the goats. The Age of Steam Railroad Museum is often a big hit amongst kids and teens. Peer into vintage real-life locomotives - some of which date back to the mid 1800's.
 Young history buffs may enjoy the Sixth Floor Museum that chronicles facts and tales from the life of J.F.K. Then there's always the Dallas World Aquarium featuring aquatic specimens from Fiji, Southern Australia, the Solomon Islands, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and the unique underwater realm of Lord Howe Island. Be certain to look for the spectacled angelfish. They have a distinct ring around their eyes resembling spectacles, and they dine on shrimp and clams!

The planetarium at the Museum of Nature & Science will have you pondering vast enthralling notions of space for decades. Shows include: Future is Wild, depicting the versatile forms of life that have developed and continue to develop on Earth; Stars of the Pharaohs, a glimpse into Egyptian culture and how they incorporated the cosmos into their daily lives; and Wonders of the Universe, discussing the amazing discoveries the Hubble Space Telescope has revealed about the universe. Also fascinating are various wildlife dioramas of the Texas wetlands, along with ancient dinosaur bones discovered in Texan soil.
