The Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden
8617 Garland Rd.
Hours: Daily 10am - 5pm

A lush and green countryside usually doesn’t come to mind when you think of Dallas, but at the Arboretum & Botanical Garden, there's a barrage of horticultural splendors. Only a ten minute drive from downtown brings you to this 70 acre ensemble of beautifully sculpted gardens.

The Jonsson Color Garden features an enormous collection of azaleas blooming with daffodils and tulips in the spring, and caladiums and canna during autumn. Also notable during the fall is the fulgent foliage that beams with a bounty of orange, yellow, green and red. Throughout the year various events are held at the arboretum including concerts, art shows and social gatherings. In the backdrop, White Rock Lake calmly shimmers.

In the spring of 2006, the Boswell Family Garden blossomed into the public eye. An incredible octagonal fountain represents the entranceway. Soon thereafter, an astonishing view of the garden makes way. An intricate combination of red rose trellises livens the vicinity as brilliant rows of red and yellow hedges formulate a pathway for perusing.
